Maxine Vail Holloman
Goldsboro – Maxine Vail Holloman, 78, of 2335 Old Smithfield Road passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. K.L. Buffalo and Rev. Percy Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro. Other times, the family will receive friends at her home.

The Charles B. Aycock Class of 1983 is planning their 25 year reunion. To update your address on file, please call 919-751-8893 and leave your information at the tone if needed. Invitations will be mailed at a later date.
Publish your own book
Author and publisher L. Diane Wolfe, will walk you through the steps from creating a marketable product to distribution of your book. All of the options available will be outlined, including the incredible potential of the Internet as a resource and platform for your work, as well as options for articles and manuscripts. Anyone serious about writing is encouraged to attend this lively seminar.
This session is offered in combination with the seminar on marketing and promoting.
The seminar is on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 6-9 PM at the Business Development Ctr., 3rd floor. Reservations required, call Pat Killette at 252-246-1232 or pkillette@wilsoncc.edu.
WCC training courses
Wayne Community College Continuing Education will offer several training courses for health care professions this fall, as well as a class that gives an overview of such occupations.
Classes beginning in August are Geriatric Nurse Aide, Health Unit Coordinator, Medical Terminology, Nurse Aide II, and Pharmacy Technician. A Nurse Aide Refresher course will be taught in September and Medication Aide and Substance Abuse begin in October.
Home Companion Aide prepares students to render health care assistance to elderly persons and their families in a home setting. Classes will be held 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 26-Nov. 18.
“Introduction to Healthcare Occupations” provides an overview of healthcare careers, educational requirements, and other information to help students decide what path to take. It will be taught 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 26-Oct. 23.

Upcoming reunions
The CBA High School Class of 1978 will have a free class reunion on Saturday, October 4 from 11-5 at the school’s cafeteria. The CBA classes of 1977, 1978 and 1979 will have a reunion at Wilson Country Club on Saturday, October 4 from 7-12. Storytime for preschoolers
Preschool story time for children ages 2-5 is held at the Fremont Library on Monday mornings at 10 a.m. Children are invited to come and participate in songs, craft projects, and the reading of fun books.
