highway patrol report10 April 2008 — The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported the following accidents: Christine Marcelly Borders, 77, of Pikeville and Annie Anders Bedford, 56, of Pikeville were involved in an accident on Friday. Mrs. Borders was traveling east on Nahunta Road, but had pulled into the westbound lane to check her mail. She attempted to turn right into her driveway and struck Mrs. Bedford’s vehicle as she was traveling east. Mrs. Borders’ 2002 Mercury sustained an estimated $500 in damages, while Mrs. Bedford’s 2003 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $2,500. Jesse Ray Gurley, 69, of Saulston struck a deer on Friday while driving on Highway 222 in Fremont. His 2002 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $1,200 in damages when a deer hit his passenger side door.
