THURMAN DANIEL TOLER

Thurman Daniel Toler, 79, of Goldsboro, died Sunday, March 23 at his home.

Thurman was born in Wayne County on September 16, 1928 to the late Lloyd Toler and Gatsy Fail Toler. He was retired from Ready Mix Concrete Company. While serving in the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Keln, Japan.

Funeral services were Tuesday, March 25 at 7 p.m. at Now Faith Church, on Buck Swamp Road. His grandson, the Rev. Jeff Toler, officiated. Interment was Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Thurman is survived by his wife, Gladys Blackmon Toler; his daughter, Shirley Toler and her husband, Junior, of Goldsboro; his sons, Danny Toler of Goldsboro, Clifford Toler and wife, Gay, of Goldsboro, Randy Toler and wife, Angie, of Pikeville; his grandchildren, April Holland and husband, Kirk, Jeff Toler and wife, Tonya, Jamie Toler and wife, Sharon, Kevin Toler and wife, Heather, Mark Toler and wife, Christina, Brandy Toler, Alan Toler, Wayne Toler and Ashley Toler; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Dixie Toler; his brothers-in-law, Malcolm Blackman and wife, Joann, Lounes Blackman and wife, Glenda; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cedric Toler.

 

BOB WOOTEN

Robert "Bob" Yelverton Wooten, 74, of Goldsboro, died Sunday, March 23 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Bob was born in Wayne County on March 24, 1933 to the late James A. Wooten and Ellen Herring Wooten. He was a retired radio executive with radio stations WGBR and WFMC in Goldsboro. Bob served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army.

Graveside services were Tuesday, March 25 at 2 p.m. at Pikeville Cemetery with the Rev. Willard Hardison officiating.

Bob is survived by his wife, Edna Jones Wooten; his daughter, Donna W. Mooring of Goldsboro; his son, Robert F. Wooten of the home; his sister, Marie Peele of Pikeville; his brothers, James Edward Wooten of Goldsboro, John W. Wooten of Pikeville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in Bob's memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, Va. 22038-1132.

Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
