Aycock's DECA team heads to Greensboro27 March 2008 — The Charles B. Aycock High School DECA chapter competed in the 2008 NC DECA Career Development Conference from Feb 27-March 1 in Greensboro, NC. Twenty-nine DECA members competed, and 23 reached proficiency in their event. Fifteen of the DECA members qualified to attend the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia next month. Jessica Davis, Alicia Sodoma, and Blake Vail placed first in the Entrepreneurship Promotion Project. Hollie Baker and Emily Perkins placed third in Fashion Promotion Plan. Nik Frederick and Blake Vail placed third in the Hospitality Recreation Marketing Event. Hollie Baker, Abby Caplinger, and Amanda Farmer placed fourth in Entrepreneurship Written Event. Jacob Dewitt placed fourth in the Advertising Campaign Event. Leslie Crawford, Emily Perkins, and Lindsey Suggs placed fourth in the Marketing and Internet Marketing Team Event. Nik Frederick, Sam Mullen, and Addison Westbrook placed fifth in the Creative Marketing Event. DECA is a student organization for students interested in marketing, marketing management, and entrepreneurship. The organization is led at Charles B. Aycock by advisor Tammy Vail.
