ADDIE GERALDINE LOFTON BEST

Addie Geraldine Lofton Best, 54, of Wilson, died Friday, March 14 at Wilson Medical Center.

Service will be held today (Thursday) at 1 p.m. at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane St. Extension. Elder Ernest Ray Melton Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Burial Garden, Lane Street Extension.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Channie Barnes Lofton.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Gray Best Sr. of the home; two sons, Bobby Gray Best Jr. and wife, Letitia, of Raleigh, Jason Gerard Best and wife, Kiesher, of Owings Mills, Md.; one daughter, Alicia Michelle Best-Stephens and husband, Boyce, of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Brandon Best, Breshawn Best, Jalen Best, Patrick Stephens and Zoey Best; six sisters, Ollie Lofton of Goldsboro, Bobbie Lofton-Woodard and husband, George, of Wilson; Linda Lofton-Staton and husband, Melvin, of Rocky Mount, Wanda Bullock and husband, Dannie, of Wilson; Carol Smith and husband, Les, of Stantonsburg, Hope Pittman of the Saratoga Community; four brothers, Raymond Joseph Lofton of Saratoga, Roland Melvin Lofton, Billy Earl Lofton and wife, Irene, both of Wilson, Randy Lee Lofton and wife, Shirley, of Fuquay-Varina; six uncles; four aunts; 16 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-niece; with a host of other special relatives and friends.

A viewing of Mrs. Best took place Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 Tarboro St. The family will assemble at 6501 Speight School Road, Saratoga, one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are by Hamilton Funeral Chapel of Wilson.

ANNIE P. EVERETT

Annie Pearl Everett, 87, of Princeton, died Sunday, March 16 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro.

Born August 12, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Julia Stevens and Thomas Smith of Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be at noon Saturday. March 23 at White Oak Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, 2261 Big Daddy's Road, Pikeville. Viewing will be Friday, March 22, 2008, from 1 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 James St., Goldsboro. Interment will be at the Everett Family Cemetery, Raynor Town Community on Smithfield Road.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Theodore Everett of the home; her children, Nettie Victoria and Samuel Jordan of Washington, D.C.; stepchildren, Clayvon Everett of Chapel Hill, Rochelle Holder of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; five nephews; five nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

LILLIE C. MITCHELL

Lillie Sasser Carlisle Mitchell, 82, of Wilson died Thursday, March 13, after a long battle with illness.

Born September 20, 1925, she was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church, Wilson.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16 at Joyner's Funeral Home. Entombment followed in Evergreen Memorial Park. The Rev. Benny Poythress officiated.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by four daughters, JoAnn Edwards and husband, Russell, of Lucama, Barbara Edwards and husband, Junior, of Lucama, Rachel Griffin and husband, Tommy, of Wilson and Debbie Skinner and husband, Bobby, of Wilson; two sons, Larry Carlisle and wife, Shirley, of Lucama and Eddie Carlisle and wife, Patricia, of Fremont; 14 grandchildren, Jason Skinner and wife, Ashley, of Wilson, Johnathan Skinner and wife, Amber, of Wilson, Shelia Allen and husband, Eric, of Lucama, David Jr. "Shorty" Griffin and wife, Karen, of Arizona, Russell Jr. "Buddy" Edwards of Wilson, Elvis Edwards and wife, Rebecca, of Kenly, Connie Hall of Bailey, Marsha Rae Grady of Lucama, Linda Connelly and husband, Steve, of Wilson, Larry Harrell Carlisle of Lucama, Tammy Lee of Bailey, Lora Mooring of Bailey, Andrew Carlisle of Fremont, and Matthew Carlisle of Fremont; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, four sisters, five brothers, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

LOLA B. PERKINS

Lola Bailey Perkins, 78, of Pikeville, died Monday, March 17 at the Sterling House of Goldsboro.

Born in Dillon, S.C. on October 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Dr. R.M. and Edna B. Bailey and sister of the late Adris Jean Bailey. Mrs. Perkins was a member of Saulston United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women and the Saulston Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

A celebration of life service was held Wednesday, March 19, at 7 p.m. at Saulston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Ward officiating.

Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband, Joseph D. Perkins; her son, Marvin Perkins and wife, Emily, of Pikeville; her daughter, Adris Anderson of Pikeville; six grandchildren, Joseph Perkins and wife, Brandi, Michael Perkins and wife, Liz, Damie Perkins, Robin Panowicz and husband, David, Max Smith and Madeline Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Doyle Perkins, Alexis Perkins, Adrian Perkins, Aiden Perkins, Kaylon Perkins, Hailey Panowicz and Lana Perkins.
