Nahunta ECA meeting

20 March 2008 — At the March meeting of the Nahunta ECA Hostess Shelba Buchanan led a devotion with an Easter theme. Easter celebrates the Christian’s new life after death.

Money was  collected for “Pennies for Angels” and for books for Northwest School.

Irene Johnson has made 20 turbans to be donated to cancer patients.  She also has 22 teddy bears ready to stuff.

Eleven members attended the Wayne County ECA Achievement Dinner on March 3. President Barbara Howard accepted the following 2007 awards for Nahunta: tie for first for County Council Attendance and first for Increased Membership. Nahunta was recognized as a Gold Winner for Community Service and received the award for Excellence in Education. Judy Cordeiro was honored with the ECA County Leadership Award. She was also installed as the 2008-09 Wayne County ECA Council President.

Evelyn Crawford won the door prize.

There will be no meeting in April since it is the same day as the District Meeting.
