Track team takes second13 March 2008 — The Aycock Women’s Track team finished second in a three-team meet to open the season last Thursday. Host team Hunt earned top honors with a total score of 87, while Aycock claimed second with 56. Beddingfield finished third with 27. Chantel Gaines had a pair of first-place individual finishes in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash. She also assisted with two first place relay finishes. Gaines, Megan Hales, Samantha Ballard, and Artice Felder earned first in the 400 relay. Gaines, Hales, Ballard, and Jordan Stackle earned first in the 800 relay. Nicole Lowe, Teonna Jenkins, Briana Reid and Ashley Marks finished first in the 100 relay. Lowe, Jenkins, Cynthia Dickerson, and Cara Sanders claimed first in the 200 relay. Laila Stevens and Kristen Fisher finished third and fourth, respectively, in the two mile race. Felder had fourth in the 200 meter dash. Aycock had second, third and fourth from Hales, Ronje Perry and Dori Oxendine in the 1600 meter race. Perry and Stackle placed third and fourth in the 800, and Felder added a fourth place finish in the 400. Sanders and Leslie Crawford had second and fourth place finishes in the 300 hurdles competition.
