Fremont woman murdered in home

6 March 2008 — A Fremont woman was found dead in her home late Wednesday afternoon.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a home on Black Creek Road around 4:00 Wednesday, where they discovered the body of a young Hispanic woman.

The woman, Silvia Bonitez Morales, appears to have been shot. However, an official cause of death is awaiting results from an examination in Chapel Hill, where Ms. Morales’ body was transported yesterday.

Officials have no strong leads in the case and are asking for any information citizens may have. The investigation is ongoing, and all leads are being followed up.

Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is requested to contact the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office at 919-731-1493, or Wayne County Crimestoppers at 919-735-2255.
