(NL Photo by Wise) Birth announcementRichard and Tonya Ezzell Reliford, along with Hunter and Alexis, of Princeton, announce the birth of a son and brother, Ethan Cole, on February 22 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He weighed seven pounds, five ounces and was 20 and a half inches long. Maternal grandparents are Thomas and Janie Ezzell of Pikeville, and paternal grandparents are Phyllis Reliford of Smithfield and Richard Reliford of Hickory. Hilda Ezzell of Goldsboro is the maternal great-grandmother. Statewide burning banDue to hazardous forest fire conditions and the continuing drought, the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the North Carolina Division of Forest Resources have enacted a statewide burning ban. For further information, visit www.dfr.state.nc.us.Memorial monumentThe Fremont Daffodil Festival Foundation is now accepting names to be added to the memorial monument in the Fremont Daffodil Memorial Park. The stone monument is 2 ft. 8 in. wide, 10 in. thick and 3 ft. 6 inches tall and lettered on both sides. Names can be placed on this monument in honor or in memory of a Fremont resident. A minimum donation of $350.00 is requested to cover the fees for the engraving and to help maintain the memorial park. A special ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 29th after the opening ceremonies of the 22nd Annual Fremont Daffodil Festival recognizing new names honored on the monument. Storytime for preschoolersPreschool story time for children ages 2-5 is held at the Fremont Library on Monday mornings at 10 a.m. Children are invited to come and participate in songs, craft projects, and the reading of fun books. Fremont Free ClinicThe Fremont People's Free Clinic is held every third Saturday of the month, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at 107 Ward Street. Please come fasting if you would like your labs checked.
