Wayne County Schools honor FFA week28 February 2008 – Wayne County Public Schools’ FFA students celebrated National FFA Week February 16-23, 2008. This year’s theme is “Blue Jackets, Bright Futures.” The theme embodies the most recognizable symbol of the organization, the blue corduroy jacket, a symbol of pride and tradition, as well as the Wayne Superintendant Dr. Stephen Taylor (seated) proclaimed “FFA Week” last week. The focus of National FFA Week is to tell America about the great opportunities available for all youth. From its beginnings in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America, the National FFA Organization today reaches out to all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. FFA is committed to developing character and leadership skills and preparing members for a lifetime of civic leadership and career success. Fremont Rescue and EMS BBQA barbecue chicken dinner sponsored by Fremont Rescue and EMS will be held on Sunday, March 2 starting at 11; eat in, take out, or drive-thru, at the EMS Building on Sycamore Street. Plates will be $6, with half a chicken, potatoes, beans, a roll, and a homemade desert.
