ANNIE K. FERRELL Annie Elizabeth Keen Ferrell, 89, a resident of Woodard's Care, died Tuesday, February 18 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Annie was born in Wilson County on August 16, 1918 to the late Hubert Keen and Clyde Louisa Jackson Keen. She was married to the late James Thomas Ferrell. Annie was a member of the Goldsboro Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Graveside services were held Wednesday, February 20 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Willard Hardison and the Rev. Reynolds Smith officiating. She is survived by her daughters, Annie Margie Hatcher of Pikeville, Janice Faye Smith of Dudley; her sons, James Ray Ferrell of Rosewood, Thomas Eugene Ferrell of Pikeville, Hubert Gerald Ferrell of Pikeville; her sisters, Dolly Jean Waddell of Bailey, Sally Mae Waddell of Macclesfield; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
JOHN F. FRY John Fredrick Fry, 61, of Fremont, died Sunday, February 17 at the VA Medical Center in Durham. He was born on August 9, 1946 to John and Elizabeth Fry. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Fry; his wife, Susan Fry; his daughter, Michelle Fry Silvey; his grandson, George Silvey III; his sister, Louise Knosp; and his brother, Jeffrey Fry. A covered dish memorial service will be held at Fremont Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, Feb. 23rd at noon. Contributions may be made to the George Silvey III Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 788, Fremont, N.C. 27830. Arrangements by Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
MARY E. ARTIS MORRISEY Mary E. Artis Morrisey, 50, died Sunday, February 17 at SunBridge of Mount Olive. She was born in Wayne County on October 2, 1957 to the late Thad Artis and Laurina Artis of Wayne County. She was a member of Gospel Tabernacle Church of Deliverance. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, February 23 at 11 a.m. at Gospel Tabernacle Church of Deliverance, 1015 N. James St., Goldsboro, with Bishop Leamon Sykes officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Mill Cemetery. She is survived by eight brothers, Elder John and wife, Jackie, and William and wife, Manor, both of Pikeville, Claude of Washington, D.C., Roger and James and wife, Linda, both of Maryland; Deacon Thad Jr. and wife, Carol, of Pikeville, Donnie and wife, Barbara, of Harrisburg, Pa., Deacon Jerry and wife, JoAnn, of Goldsboro; four sisters, Irene, Jennie and Bernice and husband, Albert, all of Washington, D.C., Dorothy and husband, James, of Maryland; two aunts, Maggie Williams and Helen Coley, both of Wilson; one uncle, Ivory Coley of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held Friday from 2 until 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, and the family will be present to receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. At other times the family will receive friends at 201 Meadow Crest Drive in Goldsboro and will also gather there for the funeral processional.
DELTON ALTON SHERROD Delton "Dale" Alton Sherrod, 27, of Pikeville, died Thursday, February 14. He was born on February 11, 1981. Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 17 in Pikeville Cemetery. The Rev. Gene Wells officiated. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Linda Jean and Michael Holland of Lucama; his father and stepmother, Roy Alton Sherrod Jr. and Mary Ann Sherrod of Elm City; three stepsisters, Brittany Holland and Ali Holland, both of Wilson, and Michelle Hendricks of Elm City; a stepbrother, Robbie Hendricks of Nashville; and his grandparents, Roy Sherrod Sr. and Joyce Marie Sherrod of Wilson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth Howell and Ransome "Pete" Howell. Memorials in his memory may be directed to the United Way of Wilson County, P.O.
