Nahunta ECA meeting

21 February 2008 — For the February meeting of the Nahunta ECA, Evelyn Crawford read a poem comparing George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  She added that they must have lived by the thoughts included in a poem she read entitled “Just for Today.”

Pat Kissinger was welcomed as a new member.

Linda Pierce listed the educational programs for the year: Safe Steps, Creating Family Connections Outdoors, Portion Sizes, and Food Borne Illnesses.  Volunteers will present these programs.

The Cultural Arts Creative Writing entries are due by March 3.

President Barbara Howard announced that Nahunta will be one of the hostesses at the Area Meeting on March 27.  Agnes Corbitt, Judith Aycock, Ocala Harper, and Barbara Howard volunteered to help.

For the cultural arts program Joyce Pope demonstrated how she makes jewelry by rolling strips of church bulletins.  She also uses wedding or funeral programs to make jewelry.

The door prize was won by Judith Aycock.

Evelyn Crawford served as hostess.
