Easy week for Hoops picks

14 February 2008 — In one of the more predictable weeks of the Pick the Hoops Contest, one of our better predictors won.

Daisy Best of Belfast, who has been in the winner’s circle before, came through with a 7-1 mark, only missing the Aycock girls’ upset of Hunt, to win last week’s prize: four tickets to Saturday’s Southern Miss. at ECU game.

Two qualify for runner-up honors this week: Devone Jones and Connie Lancaster.

Honorable mentions go out to: Connie Ballance, Dan Crawford, Valerie Howell, Richard A. Mooring and Bret Robinson.

This week we’ve got a peach of a prize: two tickets to the ACC matchup at the RBC on Wed. Feb. 27 between Florida State and the Wolfpack. They could be yours, but only if you enter. Cut out and fill out the entry in today’s paper and either bring it to our office or mail it in, by 5 p.m. on Friday, or enter online by 5 p.m. Friday. Hope to see you at the big game.
