highway patrol report7 February 2008 — The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported the following incidents: Chad Lee Strickland, 27, of Pikeville struck a deer last Thursday while traveling on Big Daddy’s Road. His 2006 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $1,400 in damages. William Jeremy Price, 18, of Lucama was involved in a single vehicle accident on Nahunta Road last Tuesday. Mr. Price’s vehicle ran off the road to the right as he was heading north. The vehicle struck a ditch and overturned several times before coming to a stop. Mr. Price’s 1985 Volkswagen sustained an estimated $4,000 in damages. He was cited for a lane violation. Barbara Carrell Calder of Fremont was involved in a single vehicle accident on Highway 117 last Tuesday. Her vehicle ran off the road to the right, came back onto the roadway and then crossed left of center. The vehicle ran off to the left and struck a concrete bridge railing. Her 2004 Ford sustained an estimated $8,000 worth of damages, and the railing sustained an estimated $200 in damages. Mrs. Calder was charged with driving while impaired and driving left of center. Gary Brandon Holland, 24, of Princeton was involved in a single vehicle accident on Pikeville-Princeton Road on Friday. Mr. Holland’s vehicle ran off the road to the right as he was heading west. The vehicle then came back onto the roadway and then crossed left of center, spinning out of control. The vehicle ran off to the left and struck a ditch, overturning onto its right side. Mr. Holland’s 2002 Pontiac sustained an estimated $5,000 worth of damages.
