Arrests made in CBA vehicle break-ins7 February 2008 — Three Mount Olive teens were arrested on January 18 and later charged in connection with vehicle break-ins at C.B. Aycock High School.
Jared Bryan Jackson, 18, of 2303 O'Berry Road, Mount Olive, was charged with one count each of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny, possession of stolen goods, and attempted breaking and entering, and placed under $67,500 bond. Darren Steven Pope, 18, of 1556 Tram Road, Mount Olive, was charged with one count each of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, attempted breaking and entering, and two counts each of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny, and possession of stolen property, and placed under $50,000 bond. Steven Alton Carlton, 16, of Mount Olive, was charged with one count each of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, attempted breaking and entering, injury to personal property, and two counts each of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny, and possession of stolen property, and placed under $60,500 bond. The three teens were arrested in reference to a residential break in on Dobbersville Road in Mount Olive on January 18. At that time they were charged with one count each of felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen property, and placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under $30,000 secured bond. Further investigation revealed the subjects were connected to several other crimes in Wayne and Johnston Counties. A search warrant was executed on Jackson's residence, and yielded several items reported as stolen. In addition to their connection to the C.B. Aycock vehicle break-ins, the teens were connected to similar break-ins at Southern Wayne, a breaking and entering of a business in the Grantham area, and an attempted break in at a business in Johnston County. Property with a total listed value of $9,790 has been recovered and returned to the owners. Investigating officers were Detective Sergeant Rick Farfour and Detective Sergeant Robert Chunn, assisted by Chief Ken Barrett of the Pikeville Police Department and Deputy Royce Aycock.
