sheriff's report03 January 2008 – A Pikeville teenager was arrested this past week for several charges in connection with a burglary. Derek Christopher Langley, 18, of Vail Road was arrested on Deceber 27. He was charged with simple assault, second degree burglary, larceny after breaking and entering, communicating threats, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and possession of stolen goods. Mr. Langley was held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $30,000 bond. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department also reported the following incidents: Steve Earl Gwaltney, 17, of Davis Mill Road in Fremont was arrested on outstanding charges on December 27. He was charged with driving without two headlights, fictitious or revoked registration, expired registration, and an expired inspection sticker. He was placed under a $500 secured bond. Edgar Ezra O’Quinn, Jr., 39, of Hinnant Road in Pikeville was arrested on December 29 and charged with assault on a female, communicating threats, and assault and battery. He was held without bond. Morgan Claiborne Wilson, 22, of Wayne Court in Pikeville was arrested for simple assault on Deceber 28. No bond was set.
