29 November 2007 – Angela Christine Combs and James "J.C." Ian Heath were united in marriage at 3 p.m. on September 29, 2007 at Rains Crossroads Original Free Will Baptist Church in Kenly. Reverend Calvin Heath, father of the groom, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, of Nahunta, is the daughter of Gerald Alan Combs and Emerie Ruggles Combs of Nahunta, and the granddaughter of Charlotte Faye and the late Fred Combs, Jr. of Franklin, and Keiko Ruggles of Goldsboro and the late Allen Ruggles of Littleton, NH. She is a 2001 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, majoring in criminal justice and sociology. She is employed by Pate Dawson Company in Goldsboro.
The groom is the son of the Rev. Calvin Archer Heath and Debra Gaskins Heath of Kenly, and the grandson of Patricia Bennett of Vanceboro and Lillian Heath of Cove City. He is a 1996 graduate of D.H. Conley High School in Greenville, and attended Campbell University studying pharmacy.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a satin A-line gown with cuffed neckline and a front pleated apple-red sash with beaded embroidery and a sweep train.
Her headpiece was a waist-length veil with white roses on the comb. She carried a bouquet of red roses accented with baby's breath and white pearls.
Ashley Lauren Heath of Greenville, sister in law of the groom, was matron of honor. Bethany Frances Marshall of Washington, D.C. was her friend's maid of honor.
Jason Harrison Heath of Greenville was his brother's best man. Groomsman was Mickey Charles Hill of New Orleans, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Joshua Ryan Combs of Nahunta, brother of the bride, and Russell Taylor Combs of Nahunta, brother of the bride.
The private ceremony was followed by a pig-pickin' reception in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
Following a wedding trip to the Shell Island Resort on Wrightsville Beach, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
On October 14, the ladies of Rains Crossroads held a wedding shower for the couple.
