CBA soccer team's historic season

15 November 2007 — Aycock’s bout in the state soccer playoffs came to an end last Wednesday night with a loss to Jacksonville White Oak. The visiting challengers continued in the playoffs with a 2-1 win.

White Oak challenged Aycock from the start, constantly beating the Falcons to the ball and scoring the first goal of the night ten minutes into the game. A kick from Tucker Pearson off a throw-in from David Burke tied the score into halftime, but the Falcons didn’t quite keep momentum over White Oak. Despite repeated tries, misfired kicks kept Aycock from scoring again. A second goal nine minutes into the second half proved to be the game-winning kick for White Oak.

The Falcons finished their season with an overall 19-3-1 record and a perfect season in conference play. In addition, the team made school history with their progress to the third round of playoffs.
