wayne county sheriff's department1 November 2007 — Three Pikeville residents have been arrested and charged with two counts each of second-degree kidnapping and assault inflicting serious injury.
Michael Paul Sasser, 31, of 107 Leavie Drive and Matthew Shane Robinson, 37, and Travis Ray Pope, 37, both of 1350 Nor Am Road, were arrested following an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. Sasser was placed under $10,000 bond. Robinson and Pope were placed under $5000 bond each. On October 9, a report was filed with the Sheriff's Office in reference to the kidnapping and assault of two Pikeville citizens, on the night of October 8. Other arrests are pending. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents: Key Leon McNair, 31, of Bentwood Drive in Fremont was arrested on several outstanding warrants on Friday. Mr. McNair was arrested for one count of driving while license revoked and four counts of failure to pay child support dating back to September. He was also served a warrant for communicating threats from May of this year. He was placed under a $2500 secured bond. Ernest Biggs, Jr., 65, of Rural Crossing in Pikeville was arrested for an unsafe movement violation and expired registration on Saturday. He was placed under a $500 secured bond. Christopher Speight Bogue, 34, of Bogue Road in Fremont was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on Thursday. He was held without bond. Joshua Leon Brantley, 22, of Moye Road in Fremont was arrested on Wednesday for no operator’s license and no insurance. He was placed under a $500 bond. Mahmud Ewais, 41, of CBA Lane in Pikeville was arrested last Tuesday for a seat belt violation as well as improper use of a dealer permit or tag. He was placed under a $500 bond. Richard Weyland Yarbrough, 60, of Airport Road in Fremont was arrested on fugitive warrants from Hanover County, VA last Tuesday. Mr. Yarbrough faces chargers of aggravated sexual battery and taking indecent liberties with a child.
