highway patrol report1 November 2007 — The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported the following accidents: Jimmy Leon Tart, 34, of Princeton struck a deer on Highway 222 in Fremont on Sunday. Mr. Tart’s 1998 Mazda sustained $ 800 worth of damages. Reginald Tierol Edwards, 39, of Stantonsburg was involved in a single vehicle accident on Saturday. He was traveling west on 1529 when he struck a tree that had fallen in the roadway. Lauren Paige Garrett, 16, of Goldsboro and Chantel Renee Gaines, 18, of Goldsboro were involved in an accident on Thursday. Both vehicles were traveling west on 1545 when Ms. Gaines vehicle slowed and was struck by Ms. Garrett’s vehicle. Ms. Garret was cited for failure to reduce speed, and her 1998 Honda sustained an estimated $500 worth of damagers. Ms. Gaines’ 1994 Honda sustained an estimated $200 worth of damages. Brenda Anne Kelly, 33, ,of Lancaster Road in Pikeville and William Dwight Jones, 54, of Turner Swamp Road in Fremont were involved in a collision last Wednesday. Ms, Kelly’s vehicle was traveling north on 1537 while Mr. Jones’ was traveling south. Ms. Kelly attempted to make a left hand turn onto 1538 when she struck Mr. Jones’ car. Ms. Kelly was cited for unsafe movement, and her 1997 Ford sustained an estimated $6,000 worth of damages. Mr. Jones’ 1990 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $2,000 worth of damages. Jenny Edgerton Raye, 43, of Goldsboro struck a deer on Highway 117 on Wednesday. The deer was lying in the road after another vehicle had struck it. Ms. Raye’s 2004 Toyota sustained an estimated $300 worth of damages. Lori Lucas Hobbs, 33, of Kenly struck a deer last Tuesday on Highway 222, causing $2,000 worth of damages to her 2002 Dodge.
