Pigskin results

18 October 2007 — Fremont Mayor Devone Jones obviously knows something about getting elected. His football instincts are pretty good, too.

The regular in the Pigskin Pickin’ Contest and past winner was the sole entry to get all six games correct, and is our top pick of the pickers this week.

For his Pigskin Pickin’ prowess, he won two highly prized tickets to this Saturday’s NCSU at East Carolina game.

Runner-up honors this week go to: Linda Babb, Ronnie A. Barnes, Chris Keen, Mario Re, Harold D. Richardson, Matt Spence and Stephen Tart. Most of those who missed picked Kinston over Aycock.

Honorable mentions go to: James Ballance, Daisy Best, Eddie Davis, Brady Grantham, H.T. Grantham, Scott hales, marie harper, David hill, Valerie Howell, Jane Lancaster, Lewis Craig parting, Nathaniel L. Sanders Jr., Kylie Suggs and Dean Worley.

This week we have two tickets to next Saturday’s game at ECU at 3 p.m. as University of Alabama at Birmingham comes calling for the best Pigskin Picker.

It could be you, but only if you take a shot. Cut out the entry in today’s News Leader and mail it in by 5 p.m. Friday, or bring it by our office at 119 N. Wilson St., Fremont, or enter online. And maybe we’ll see you at ECU.
