Highway Patrol reports

11 October 2007

The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported the following accidents:
Anthony Justin Bass, 17, of Canary Lane in Pikeville was involved in a single vehicle accident on Highway 117 near Highway 222 in Fremont on Friday. Mr. Bass’s vehicle was traveling north when it ran off the road to the left, struck a median, and came to rest on the left shoulder of the road. The vehicle caused $850 worth of damages to the median, and the vehicle sustained an estimated $10,000 worth of damages. Mr. Bass was cited for exceeding a safe speed.
Randy Allen Lewis, Jr., 22, of Lillington and Gary Winson Davis, 48, of Fremont were involved in an accident on Aycock Church Road in Fremont. Mr. Lewis was traveling east on the roadway when he attempted to pass the tobacco primer Mr. Davis was operating, but struck the primer. Mr. Lewis was cited for improper passing, and his 2006 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $7,500 worth of damages. The primer sustained an estimated $4,800 worth of damages.
Debra Susan Livingston, 46, of Goldsboro struck a deer last Monday while driving on Big Daddy’s Road. Her 2007 Toyota sustained an estimated $2,200 worth of damages.
Jeffrey Ruffin, 45, of Wilson also struck a deer on Monday while he was traveling on Highway 222 near Fremont. His 2005 Dodge sustained an estimated $4,000 worth of damages.
Bailey Michelle Lupton, 18, of Kenly was involved in a single vehicle accident on Nor Am Road on Monday. Her vehicle was traveling south when it ran off the roadway to the right. Ms. Lupton overcorrected and crossed the center line, running off the road to the right and striking a ditch. Her 2000 Toyota sustained an estimated $800 worth of damages, and she was cited for exceeding the posted speed limit.
