Energy conservation course

11 October 2007

As thermometers drop and energy prices climb this fall, local residents and businesses can learn no- and low-cost ways to save on energy bills by attending the free educational workshops, “Reducing Energy Expenses at Your Home or Business,” sponsored by the State Energy Office (SEO) of the N.C. Department of Administration and the E-Conservation Program of North Carolina Cooperative Extension.
Local businesses and nonprofit organizations are invited to attend the commercially-focused workshop October 30 at 1 p.m., at the Wayne Center, 208 West Chestnut Street. Homeowners and renters are encouraged to attend the residentially-focused workshop on October 30 at 6 p.m., also at the Wayne Center.
The workshops will include energy-saving tips and case studies, as well as information on no- and low-cost assistance offered by the E-Conservation Program and the SEO. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about local examples of energy-saving measures and how they can incorporate them into their own lifestyle.
Registration for the programs is required. Contact Sandra Head with Wayne County Cooperative Extension at 731-1520 or sandra_head@ncsu.edu to register.
