Nahunta ECA meeting

20 September 2007 — Members of the Nahunta ECA held their September meeting in the Wayne County Learning Center.

Linda Pierce gave a devotion on Hugs. She introduced her devotion by giving each member a hug, and candy hugs as favors. She said hugging is healthy, for it helps the body's immune system. Hugs are not only nice, they are needed. Hugs can relieve pain and depression. Hugging does not upset the environment. It makes happy days happier and impossible days possible. At least one hug a day is good.

Mrs. Pierce told how Jesus took young children into his arms, put his hands upon them and blessed them. She closed the devotion by reading the prayer of St. Francis.

Members approved new officers for 2008-09. They are: Barbara Howard, president; Linda Pierce, vice-president; Judith Aycock, second vice-president; Ocalla Harper, secretary; Jean Pierce, assistant secretary; Lillie Mae Overman, treasurer; Judy Cordiero, advisor; Linda Pierce, cards. Issues coordinators are Linda Pierce, Agnes Corbitt, Judith Aycock, Irene Johnson, Jean Pierce, and Lois Sasser. Callers are Joyce Lancaster and Judy Cordiero.

Cleaning the Learning Center replaced the September program. Jean Pierce won the door prize.
