CBA beats Greene Central, Spring Creek

20 September 2007 — The Charles B. Aycock soccer team improved to 5-2-1 overall last week with a pair of wins against Greene Central and Spring Creek.

An explosive second half gave the Falcons a 7-1 victory over the Rams on Tuesday night. After a goal from Jorge Delgado with an assist from Alex Rodriguez gave the Aycock boys a 1-0 lead for the first half, a combination of Falcon speed and tired Rams gave the Aycock boys a 6-point lead.

Rodriguez had a total of three goals for the night, as well as one assist. In addition to Delgado, Gavin Forrest, David Burke, and Thomas Oliver also had a goal each. Forrest and Andrew Musselman also recorded an assist each.

The Falcons played an even more impressive game Wednesday night, seizing an 8-0 victory over Spring Creek. Delgado again scored the first goal of the game, only seven minutes in. Rodriguez improved, with four goals for the game. C.P. Cranford and Tucker Pearson also scored a goal each. Forrest and Pearson led in assists, with two apiece, while Mussleman, Delgado, and Patrick Shultze also each recorded an assist.

Goalie Kyle La Flamme had six saves for the night, completely blocking the Spring Creek offense.
