Pigskin tie-breaker goes to Hill

13 September 2007 — The Pigskin Pickin’ Contest couldn’t get any tighter. Even a tie-breaker couldn’t settle it.

Four entries on the contest last week got all six games right, throwing it to the tie-breaker. No one was bold enough to predict the 65 total points in the 34-31 thriller, but three of the four predicted 28 points for ECU, the other 29. Both Todd Rose of Eureka and David Hill of Goldsboro predicted a 28-24 final, the closest entries.

So we held a final drawing between the two entries, and Mr. Hill won.

They nosed out James Ballance of Fremont and Mario Re of Goldsboro, who also got the six games right.

Runner-up honors go to: H.T. Grantham, Devone Jones, Chris Keen, Kay Rose, Denny Tart, Stephen Tart, and Eddie Yelverton.

Honorable mentions go out to: Eleanor Gooding, Nail Grantham, Mike King and James Vinson.

Mr. Hill won two tickets to this Saturday’s Southern Miss at ECU game.

This week two tickets to the UCF at ECU game on October 6 will be awarded.
