HERSHELL WALKER

Hershell Walker, 73, of Fremont, died Wednesday, September 12 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A private service will be held at a later date.

The family is being served by Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.

JOSEPH H. THOMPSON

Joseph Hubert Thompson, 80, of Lucama, died Saturday, September 8 at the North Carolina Special Care Center in Wilson.

Mr. Thompson was born in Johnston County on July 25, 1927. He was the son of the late Herbert and Sophia Guinn Thompson.

Graveside services were held Monday morning, September 10, at White Oak Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his brothers, Leonard Thompson of Fayetteville and Kenneth Thompson of Naples, Fla.; and his sisters, Marie Thompson of Raleigh, Katie Belle Edelen of Florida, and Beadie Wheeler of Pikeville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sophia Collier, and his brother, Linwood Earl Thompson.
