WCC to hold Constitution Day voter drive6 September 2007 — Wayne Community College will host a voter registration drive on Monday, Sept. 17, as a “Constitution Day” activity. The drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Atrium of the Wayne Learning Center (main building) on the college’s campus in Goldsboro. The voter drive is open to members of the public who are U.S. citizens by birth or naturalization and will be 18 years old by the next general election. Those registering at this drive will be eligible to vote in the Nov. 6 municipal and sanitary district elections and the 2008 elections, but not Goldsboro’s primary on Oct. 9; deadline to register is 25 days before an election. Other Constitution Day activities at the college include a campus-wide Constitution trivia contest for the classes that meet at 10 a.m. with prizes for the top two classes and another trivia contest for individuals conducted from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Atrium by the WCC International Students Club. Constitution Day celebrates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.
