Lady Falcons triumph over GC

6 September 2007 — The Aycock volleyball team earned their first win of the season Tuesday afternoon against Greene Central.

Last week, the girls traveled to Greene Central, losing three of four games. But after last match proved the girls could win a game against Greene Central, the girls came out this week ready to win more. The Lady Falcons won three of four games against the Rams Thursday.

After being behind for much of the first game, the girls caught up to Greene Central at 19 points, and went on to win the game 25-20. After winning the second game 25-15, the Rams fought back, winning the third game 25-22. But the Lady Falcons sealed the win with another 25-15 victory in the fourth game.

Beth Carter and Bridgette Briggs led Aycock with seven kills each. Leigh Ann Sager was also a key player, with six aces. Coach Davis Harris said Emily Jordan also gave an outstanding effort in Thursday's game.

The ladies traveled to North Lenoir on Wednesday, and will travel to Beddingfield on Tuesday.
