Nahunta ECA meeting

30 August 2007 — The Nahunta ECA Club held its August meeting at the home of Ocalla Harper, with eleven members and one visitor in attendance.

Jean Pierce presented a devotion on aging. She emphasized the necessity of showing love to others, and slowing down enough to enjoy the pleasures of life.

Irene Johnson gave a program on Exercise. Exercise is vital and beneficial to all ages, including seniors. It improves our health, helps with weight loss, brings down blood pressure, lessens the risk of diabetes, improves our mood, and helps maintain our bones, joints, and flexibility. Mrs. Johnson demonstrated several exercises that can be done while sitting, if one has limited mobility.

Thank you notes were read from Ronald McDonald House and Victory Junction, for our donations.

County Council will be held on August 7 at 10 a.m. Nahunta will provide refreshments, a "Thought for the Day," and man the registration table. A meeting to organize the Fair's Senior Citizen Contest will be held on August 9 at 11 a.m. We were reminded of upcoming dues, and that quilt tickets were available. A Cultural Arts training session will be held on August 31 at 5:30.

The meeting was closed by saying the "Collect," followed by light refreshments.
