Despite defeat, L. Falcons improving

30 August 2007 — The Lady Falcons volleyball team may have started their season at 3-0, but Coach Davis Harris said the girls are showing improvement with each game.

Tuesday afternoon, the girls traveled to Greene Central playing their most promising of the past three matches, winning the second of four games  25-18. But Greene Central came away the victors, 3-1. Game scores for the three games were 19-25, 21-25, and 24-26.

Beth Carter was a key player for the Falcons, with 19 kills for Aycock on Tuesday. Leigh Smith was a strong player all around in Tuesday’s match.

Last week, the Aycock ladies played Clayton twice, losing both times. Last Tuesday, the Lady Falcons lost in four games, 3-1. Thursday, Clayton won in three games.

Coach Harris said that the team is improving, which is the most important thing.

“That’s the main thing I want to see from the girls before we get to the conference,” he said.
