‘Town hall’ meetings set

22 August 2007 — Curious about what services are provided by the county? Have some questions or concerns you’d like addressed by county officials? Wayne County Commissioners want to hear from you, and will be holding a series of “Town Hall” meetings as part of an ongoing effort to increase public awareness of county services and programs.

The meetings will be held at different locations in the county, and will give citizens an opportunity to ask questions about county services, as well as sharing ideas relating to the future of Wayne County.

Wayne County continuously strives to provide quality services to its citizens, without expanding the budget. However, the county needs your help in determining what issues are important to citizens for the future, and how you would like to see the county develop and grow in future years.

“The County Commissioners believe that it’s very important to know what our citizens are concerned about, and to hear what ideas they have for the future of our county,” said John Bell, Chairman of the Wayne County Board of Commissioners.

The first meeting will be held today at Rosewood High School. Charles B. Aycock will host a session September 11, beginning at 6 p.m.
