sheriff’s report

23 August 2007 — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents:

James Womble Cobb, 48, of Buckswamp Road reported larceny of firearms and breaking and entering at his home on Saturday. Mr. Womble said a filing cabinet had been pried open and six semi-automatic handguns worth a total of $1,510 had been stolen.

A Pikeville man reported identity theft on Friday. Christian Frederick Bristol, 31, of Lavern Lane reported that his brother had used his ID to open several accounts.

Edward Lancaster, 45, of Truevine Road reported illegal dumping on his property on Saturday.

Travis Seth Tillman, 32, of Daw Pate Road reported simple assault on Saturday. He told officers he had been hit with a glass.

Assault and assault on a female were reported at a home on Grand Street on Saturday. A female victim was hit in the head and a male victim was hit as well.

Marjorie Diane Henning, 45, of Sunnybrook Drive reported that someone was communicating threats to two juveniles in her home. The suspect threatened to shoot the two juveniles.

Murny Rayborn Daw, 68, of Stoneycreek Church Road reported injury to crops he owned on Brandywine Drive. Mr. Daw reported that someone had cut a path through his cornfield, causing an estimated $100 worth of damages to several stalks of corn.

Anthony Aric Ashby, 30, of Pear Tree Lane reported breaking and entering at his home on Saturday. Mr. Ashby reported that a back glass window was broken, causing $500 worth of damages, but nothing was missing from the home.
