GRACE D. BRAXTON

Grace Dawson Braxton, 79, died Friday, August 17 at the Brian Center of Wilson.

The funeral was held Monday, August 20 at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont. A graveside service was held Tuesday, August 21 at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.

Born on June 19, 1928, Mrs. Braxton was a retired nurse from Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by a son, Henry Milton Braxton Jr. of Kenly; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Braxton and Gary Bell of Stantonsburg; two sisters, Helen White of Greenville and Virginia Chase of Eureka; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Milton Braxton Sr.

R. GAIL INGRAM

Rita Gail Ingram, 58, of Mount Olive, died Monday, August 20 at her home.

Gail was born in Wayne County on September 11, 1948 to the late Raymond Carlton Ingram and Bessie Lee Howell Ingram. Gail was a member of Eureka Christian Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 21 at 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. Interment was Wednesday, August 22 at 3 p.m. at Eureka Christian Church Cemetery.

Gail is survived by her sisters, Jean Mills of Goldsboro and Edna Thornton of Mount Olive; her brother, Carroll Ingram of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Dale Lewis.

EDNA S. LANGSTON

Edna Sykes Langston, 79, of Fremont, died Monday, August 20 at her home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 21 at 7 p.m. at Faro Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Joe Strouse officiated. Graveside services were held Wednesday, August 22 at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.

Mrs. Langston was born in Wayne County on January 20, 1928, to the late Harvey and Bessie Sykes. She was a faithful member of Faro Chapel P.F.W.B. Church for more than 50 years.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Dwight Langston and his wife, Kimberly, of Goldsboro; three daughters, Dolly Creech and her husband, Ronnie, Edna Woodruff and her husband, Ernest, and Annette Hurdle and her husband, Harold, all of Wilson; a brother, Ralph Sykes of Virginia; a sister, Pauline Stocks of Pikeville; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Langston was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Langston, and a son, Dillard Ray Langston.

EDROY JONES

Edroy Jones, 81, of Fremont, died at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Goldsboro on Friday, August 17.

He was born on December 29, 1925 to the late Sherman and Clara Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 25 at the St. Paul Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, 4133 Frank Price Church Road, Black Creek. Interment will follow in the Fremont Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will be 1-4:30 p.m. Friday, August 24 at Hamilton Funeral Home in Goldsboro. Wake will be 7-8 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, with the family present to receive visitors.
