Teachers still needed2 August 2007 — With the beginning of the school year just a few short weeks away, several area schools still have teaching positions open for the upcoming year. With the exception of Stantonsburg Elementary and Northeast Elementary Schools, all area schools have open spots. At Charles B. Aycock High School, the administration is still looking for a science teacher to teach Biology classes. Norwayne Middle still has a slot open for a seventh grade math and science teacher. Speight Middle School has the most vacancies, with five open spots. The school is still interviewing for two seventh-grade math teachers and an eighth grade communication skills teacher. In addition, they are also looking for an AIG teacher and a media coordinator. Fremont Elementary School is still searching for a computer and technology instructor, as well as a fourth grade teacher. The school also needs an additional bus driver. Northwest Elementary also has three openings. The school is still looking for two third grade teachers and one first grade teacher.
