Local Barton grads

19 July 2007 — Two hundred and fifty-three Barton College seniors received diplomas on Sunday, May 20, during the school’s 105th annual commencement exercises. Participating in the ceremony were students who completed their baccalaureate degree requirements in December 2006 and May 2007, as well as candidates who expect to fulfill requirements over the summer.

The Class of 2007 at Barton College included Pikeville residents Ashley Lauren Chase, B.A. English with Teacher Licensure, Mellissa Jean Williams, B.S. Criminal Justice and Criminology (magna cum laude), and Alexis Gregori Hare, B.S.N. Nursing (cum laude).

Graduate Mellissa Williams was also named to the President’s List for the Spring Semester (achieving a perfect 4.0 average); graduate Alexis Hare was named to the Dean’s List (average of 3.3 or better).
