Kevin Michael Towle, 44, of California hydroplaned on US 117 near Pikeville on June 4. His vehicle was traveling north when a sudden storm produced heavy rain and high winds. Mr. Towle lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the road to the right and collided with a guardrail. The car then spun, striking the guardrail again, and traveled across the northbound lane into a median cable on the left. The 2002 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $4,500 worth of damages.

Mr. Cassidy was charged with a left of center violation, and his 2000 Dodge sustained an estimated $2,500 worth of damages. Mr. Hernandez’s 1991 Mercury sustained an estimated $3,000. Both men were transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was traveling north on SR 1503 when the vehicle went left of center and struck a driveway and overturned. Mr. Ussery’s 1997 Honda motorcycle sustained an estimated $6,000 worth of damages. Speed was possibly a factor in the crash, and Mr. Ussery was cited for left of center and no operator’s license.
James Raustus Taylor, 72, of Pikeville was involved in an accident on Highway 117 on May 25. His vehicle was traveling south when it ran off the road on the right, crossed the center line, and ran off to the left. The vehicle struck a ditch and several pine trees, coming to a stop in a wooded area. Mr. Taylor told officers he did not remember what happened. His 1998 Chevrolet sustained an estimated $3,000 worth of damages, and Mr. Taylor was cited for left of center.
