Movie Reviews

Clerks II (R)
I’m a huge Kevin Smith fan, and I loved it, but it is not for everyone.
The language is really bad, and there is a scene which I am surprised they got under an “R” rating.
It takes place right after the first movie, with the two main characters losing their jobs in the convenience mart.
It pokes a lot of fun at a lot at popular movies and Transformers.
It basically is one day at a fast food restaurant, with the two main characters reflecting where there lives have gone and how they can start to make something of themselves.
Rosario Dawson and Jason Mewes also star.
The writing is very witty, the music is really good, but obviously it is not for everyone. 20’s and 30 year olds will probably enjoy. - John Joyner

Monster House (PG)
This is an interesting movie. Stars behind the voices include Mitchel Musso, Steve Buscemi, Nick Cannon, and Maggie Gyllen hoal.
The basic plot is a boy, D.J., who spies on his mean neighbor. The neighbor, Mr. Nebbercracker, has a well-founded reputation for taking the toys of children who come on his lawn. One night D.J. is left with an awful babysitter and her boyfriend. During this time he begins to unlock the secret of the house next door with the help of his friends, Chowder and Jenny. They realize what is actually doing the terrorizing and it’s not Mr. Nebbercracker! They must stop the real threat before Halloween begins in 24 hours or a lot of kids can get hurt.
The special effects were great, the plot was predictable. Some scenes show adult themes, like drinking. It can be scary at times so little kids need to have parental guidance. - Rhonda Poplin
